Dean worked on this painting for well over a year and completed it in 2024.  See the image of Dean standing next to the original below - it's massive!  The hardest thing to do is fit everyone in (It always is).  

The intention behind this piece is to celebrate the times and music we grew up listening to and to create an inspirational scenario that many of us would have loved to attend.  The scene is was based on several iconic pubs (not just one).  

Dean didn't just observe the Aussie music scene - he lived it!  For a number of years Dean played bass guitar and toured with 'Kings of the Sun'.  As with many of us, his connection to the pubs, clubs and stadiums is part of our history.  Aussie music history has a real magic about it. This painting is a reminder of the good times we  had & the music that was the backing track to our lives!

As always with Deans work, there are plenty of great names missing from this scene.  It's impossible to fit everyone in.  Just imagine they were at the bar ordering a drink, slipping out for a wiz, or getting into some sort of strife... they were here, but not 'in the shot'   It won't be long though.  Dean is mulling over Aussie II - so watch this space for more of your favourites.
