Dean Turner
Dean Leroy Turner is an award-winning Australian artist, muralist, and musician based on the Gold Coast, Queensland. Born in Kelowna, Canada, and raised in Sydney's southern suburbs, Dean has built a career spanning fine art, large-scale murals, illustration, scenic art, and creative consulting across Australia and internationally.
Recognised for his dynamic style, exceptional brushwork, and ability to create impactful artwork at scale, Dean Turner has become one of Australia's most versatile visual artists. His work ranges from highly detailed portraiture and fine art commissions to commercial murals, entertainment projects, and large-format scenic installations.
Dean Turner's artistic achievements include winning First Prize at the Darcy Doyle Portrait Prize (2013) for Vinnie (acrylic on canvas) and receiving the People's Choice Award from the Royal Queensland Art Society (2014) for Heaven Can Wait (acrylic on canvas).
Throughout his career, Dean Turner has collaborated with leading organisations and brands including Warner Bros., Warner Bros. Movie World, Dreamworld, Aussie World, Gold Coast City Council, Treasury Casino, Kool Kids Kindys, and Art Now Studios. His work has taken him across Australia, Italy, England, Fiji, and Ukraine, delivering creative projects for both public and private clients.
As a scenic artist, Dean Turner has contributed to major film and television productions, including the original Australian series Big Brother, as well as blockbuster films such as Fool's Gold, Daybreakers, Thor: Ragnarok, Godzilla vs. Kong, Ticket to Paradise, and Elvis.
Today, Dean continues to create original artworks that celebrate music, culture, storytelling, and Australian life. His artworks are held in private collections throughout Australia and overseas, with his work sought after by collectors, businesses, and music lovers alike.
